Election Results: Turnout Barely Over 10% As Donovan Goes To Congress

Dan Donovan will be heading to Congress with the support of around 6% of his district.

The Staten Island Republican won last night’s (May 5, 2015) special election with 59% of the votes cast, defeating Bay Ridge Democrat Vincent Gentile’s 39%. The 39,875 votes cast is barely over 10% of the number of registered voters in the 11th Congressional District.

Green Party candidate James Lane made a very-distant third-place finish with 527 votes, just a little over 1% of last night’s vote.
