Popular Bay Ridge Delicatessen to Move

A popular Fifth Avenue sandwich shop and caterer will soon move—to a smaller space around the corner. Mejlander and Mulgannon announced that it will depart the storefront space at 7615 Fifth Avenue that it’s occupied for 23 years to move onto 76th Street, No. 507, next door to the Bean Post. (Which used to be…has this space ever been anything?) M&M started out “as a neighborhood, German-style delicatessen and [grew] into one of the finest caterers in the Tri-State area,” according to its website, but people in the neighborhood still know it best for its bread-and-meats, like the hot pastrami sandwich.

  1. Something doesn’t jive with this move- that space is Bean Post’s kitchen. How is a deli going to operate out of the kitchen of a bar? The service here was always bad. I think that’s why it closed- and there is no sign that this move is happening. The original storefront is abandoned & they auctioned off all the fixtures. Plenty of other sandwich options around. One block away gets you David’s Brisket House!
