I feel like I’ve fallen prey to a bait-and-switch. A few years ago, when the Summer Stroll on Third Avenue was first announced, I feel like I was promised all sorts of anachronisms like doo-wop bands and barbershop quartets. Instead, all I got was this street festival with all sorts of outdoor seating at restaurants and local businesses staying open past the time I actually get home from work and other things that would actually interest me.
Thanks, Obama!
So the Summer Stroll starts tonight. The outdoor movie series returns to the Narrows Botanical Garden. Both Shakespeare and yoga are coming to the park, in what I hope are two separate events. And there is also a food-and-drink tour of the neighborhood tomorrow. Enjoy!

Ha! doo-wop groups and barbershop quartets were actually part of the initial plan, it just never came together. Glad you’re happy with the ol’ bait & switch.
I’ll take the doo wop. Dead and underappreciated genre. Not easy to do.
