Shakespeare in Owl’s Head, plus readings, screenings, book sales and more.
Also in this week’s event listing: the outdoor movie (Ghostbusters!) at the Narrows Botanical Garden, the list of movies opening this week at the Alpine, the latest Martymusic concert, and a ton of stuff at the Bay Ridge library branch.
Starting this week, we’re letting you know what movies will be opening at Alpine Cinemas. But don’t worry, the usual suspects – Summer Stroll, pop-up art exhibits – they’re still all here, too.
Also this coming week: poetry reading at the Owl’s Head wine bar, Martymusic in Shore Road Park, and an outdoor movie at Narrows Botanical garden.
When the Summer Stroll on Third Avenue was first announced a few years ago, we were promised all sorts of anachronisms like doo-wop bands and barbershop quartets. Thankfully, we got more interesting stuff than that.
Happy Independence Day to those that celebrate! America’s 239th birthday is upon us, and there are two big celebrations locally that you can take part in. They’re on separate days, so you can do both if you want, and still have time to head into Manhattan or Northern Brooklyn to watch the big Macy’s show. […]
Start the weekend off right with an outdoor movie starring Discount Jennifer Grey. Extra credit if you can name Chanice’s dimples without Googling them. Unless you want to Google Chanice’s dimples.
Do you have friends that tell you that Bay Ridge isn’t hospitable to the arts? Take ’em to an art show at the Irish Haven bar this weekend. That’s pretty much the Mother Of All Misconception-Busters right there.
The Bay Ridge Datebook is your guide to local events for the next week, and it’s going to be a busy one – parades, history, and poetry, oh my!
