The Bay Ridge Historical Society presents Jeff Richman, Green-Wood Cemetery's full-time historian, who will talk about Captain Samuel Harris Sims, who fought for the Union, died in the Battle of the Crater, and was buried in Brooklyn's biggest boneyard.

The Revolutionary War truly began when British troops landed in Bay Ridge and marched north. Commemorate the 240th anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn with colonial reenactors near where it began—at Denyse Wharf, under the Verrazano, which is usually locked up and off-limits. Rain or shine.
